Reward Mechanisms

Report-to-Earn:

How it Works: Users are rewarded for actively contributing to pollution data collection by taking real-time photos of shoreline pollution. The reward calculation is based on the following factors:

  • Trash Quantity: The reward amount is directly proportional to the amount of trash depicted in the image. The more pollution reported, the higher the rewards.

  • Priority Locations: Different shoreline locations are categorized based on priority. Reporting pollution in areas of higher priority results in increased rewards. Conversely, rewards may decrease for already high-priority areas.

  • Reporting Frequency: Users can report pollution in the same vicinity once per day to prevent misuse.

Participate-to-Earn:

Three Reward Pools: Participate-to-Earn encompasses three distinct reward pools, each offering unique opportunities for community members:

  1. Equal Rewards: All participants in a cleanup event are rewarded an equal amount from the first pool, fostering inclusivity and active engagement.

  2. Weighted Collection Rewards: After a cleanup event concludes, users are encouraged to measure the amount of trash they have collected. Rewards are distributed proportionately based on individual contributions. If the total rewards for this pool are represented as X, and a user collects y kilograms of trash, they receive (y/total collected) * X.

  3. Attendance Rewards: The third pool rewards users for their active participation in multiple cleanup events. The more cleanup events a user attends, the greater their rewards, recognizing and incentivizing consistent engagement in community cleanup initiatives.
